360 Charity
At the age of 15 having recently been an immigrant from Mexico to Canada, I met a man named Adnan from Syria whose family had been split due to the ongoing civil war. I was heartbroken to learn most of his family was still in different under-resourced refugee camps. Without hesitation, I decided to embark on a venture with the urging desire of wanting to help Adnan’s siblings reunite with him here in Canada. I established 360 charity in order to sponsor and reunite Syrian refugee families that had been separated by war.

My charity quickly grew into a team of 40 students across different schools in Vancouver. We orchestrated several fundraising events and eventually raised over $40,000 to settle two families with young children in Vancouver.
We connected these families to housing in Vancouver, helped them find jobs, taught them English and babysat their kids, helping them settle successfully and comfortably in Vancouver.
We eventually were able to create a sustainable method to sponsor Syrian refugee families through creating several successful fundraising events and strategic partnerships with government organizations, as well as established an organized system to help them settle in Canada.
